Stand-Up at Carmel Hall, what a blast.

The Cygnet Folk Festival 2023 mantra is Back in Full Swing. After such a rich day, I’m feeling it.

Professional comedian Jenny Wynter had a Masterclass, Freeing the Funny from 11 – 3.30 today, so I bit the bullet and joined up, having become very interested in improv, after Cameron and Sonja Hindrum’s Literary Lounge at Junction Art Festival in Launceston.

This day has been the most positive experience and culminated in a live performance in front of a great audience at the Carmel Hall in the centre of Cygnet proper. Oh man, it stretched you, alternating nerve wracking and exciting, with the tight supportive bunch we became. Everyone had your back. Jenny emphasised that.

I’m exhausted and want to do it again.

Apart from that huge effort, I managed to catch up with a few people which was lovely, and enjoy Emily Lubitz perform, with great storytelling and a beautiful performance.  The day is bookended by some photos of the mighty Huon River and also contains a belly full of cherries.

The air con is cooling off my little air b&b, the shower has cooled off my hot bod – you know how it is – and my lovely host has left a delicious omelette in the fridge.

Reflect on that.  #jennywynter #improvisation #cygnetfolkfestival #isthishowyouhashtag #cherries
